Early start to miss the traffic and arrived to no wind but a confident Al.
True to form as the sun came out at midday the wind started to build.
After lots of uming and aahing we decided to head to the beach with big
sails. Al just wanted to take his 5.0 and 5.7. Steve and I reckoned 6.5's
and 5.7's. Al was right as as soon as we arrived 5.7 was the size. As
Steve worked out how to rig his new Naish Boxer, Al and I blasted out onto
some flat, warm and sunny water. Al's new board looks awsome. After about
an hour or so the wind cranked up a bit so Al and I rigged our 5.0s. After
one good run it then droped off again and I ended up way downwind. Walked
back to chang kit as I left the JP and 5.7 rigged. More fanatstic blasting
maxed out over the chop and small swell. Pulled the mast track back a bit
more and the board got even better. The wind then kicked in again so it
was time for the 5.0 and wave board. Just brilliant. Even though there
were not many steep ramps for high jumps, just being out in such good and
warm conditions with such good company has left me grinning from ear to ear
for days to come. After about 4 hours I started to tire and make some
silly mistakes but did not want to come off for a rest. Eventually called
it quits and headed in to derig an drive home. What can I say 5 stars for
sure.
